Can bus integration not complete with Android 6.0 radio for VW 27-AQVW71-DE-A

Hello,

I have two problems with the new Android 6.0 device for Volkswagen (27-AQVW71-DE-A), which both are related to the can bus, I believe.

1. PDC
Putting car into reverse is correctly detected by the device, cause volume of radio is decreased and I can hear the beeps from the PDC.
But display of PDC is not working. I can see the image of the car and the detection area in front and behind the car, but I can't see where something is too close to the car. Please see red areas in the picture below (picture quality is bad due to heavy sun, but I hope you understand what I mean). "No signal" is coming from the missing rear camera, which is ok, cause I haven't installed one yet.

2. Steering wheel control is not working at all
Volume up and down on the steering wheel are not working. I tried to learn the radio to the steering wheel, but without any success. The connection cable has a wire labeled "Earth wire of steering wheel" and another wire "KAY-A" which I didn't connect cause I simply don't know where to connect. I thought remote control through the steering wheel should completely controlled by can bus.

Hi,
Sorry for the troubles brought to you.
Regarding your issues, please go to Car Settings--Factory settings(input passcord 1617)--canbus setting, choose the canbus mode to "volkswagen-non mqb-raise", then click the right corner of the screen to save, the unit will reboot itself, please try to check if the PDC and steering wheel control works.
PS: Please don't change anything in factory settings, cause it may lead some function not working or even make the system crash. In case these problem happen, you may break the warranty.

Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately it didn't help.

The canbus setting was "volkswagen-non mqb-raise" even before, but nevertheless I selected that option again and rebooted the unit. Nothing changed.

Still I can't see in the display WHERE something is too close to car.

Hi,

Steering wheel control is working now.

You have to choose the correct CAN bus provider. Standard is "Xin BUSS" which didn't work at all.

With "raise[copy simple]" und "hiworld[copy simple]" steering wheel control works.

PDC display is now on, but shows completely wrong pictures.

If someone is standing at the outermost front right corner of the car, it shows this picture:

Hi,
If you want to see the image of the rear car, you need to install a reverse camera.
What you shown in attached picture is the Car model, not the Canbus mode, please set the Canbox version in factory setting to "volkswagen-non mqb-raise".
Many of our client solve the same issue you had with changing the Canbox version.

Hi,

I'm not talking about a reverse camera. I know that "No image" comes from missing camera, as I've written in my first post.

I'm talking about the small coloured areas in front and behind the small car icon in the upper left corner of the display.

Changing the CAN bus providers brought the coloured areas (before they were not present at all), but they are showing wrong information.

I tried all 6 CAN bus providers. 4 of them are not working at all. The other 2 are showing the coloured areas, but at the wrong position.

About the wrong display position, you can go to the Car settings--Common--Reverse display of door.
Here is an attached picture.

But the topicstarter means, anybody is on the left corner from the front of the car, but the pdc shows that anybody where in the middle on the front of car. Nothing about reverse, but false position.

Hi,
After discussing your issue with the technician, he said that the issue may have relation with the number of radar detector and the canbus decoder. So could you please tell us how many radar detector in front of your car?
In fact, you can choose to use a universal rear camera which just cost about 20USD.
Then you can see more clear back image when you put your car into reverse.

I repeated the test and asked a second person for assistance.

I think, the visualisation works differently in the Android radio and in the VW original OPS in the RCD310.

RCD310:
Something is very close leads to BIG bold bars:

Probably that confused me.

Most likely something far away was detected in the middle in front of my car (maybe the open! garage door). Therefore constantly two big bars.

If something came close to the car, I had small bars, either replacing the big bars or additional to the big bars.

First this was totally confusing for me - but probably correct.

Unfortunately I cannot do any further tests because I don't have the unit anymore.

No I give the RQ0367E a try.
